Bryan

Pamela Jane Settle Golub, the eldest daughter of Howard and Juanita Settle, was born in Bossier City, Louisiana on April 21, 1953. She died on October 1, 2024, at St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan, Texas after a six-week battle with pneumonia and its complications. She was 71 years old.

Pam grew up with her younger sister, Sharon, as an "Air Force Brat", following her father's career across the United States, from Louisiana, Ohio, Wyoming and finally to Texas.

She attended college at Texas Women's University in Denton, and in 1976 she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 1990, she continued her education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, receiving her Advanced Nurse Practitioner license in Women's Health.

Having previously worked with special needs kids at schools, and now having her Women's Health license, she went on to council women suffering from traumatic events and in crisis situations while working with various home health and clinical agencies, including Daniel Jarvis Home Health, Robertson County Community Hospital, Brazos Valley Prenatal Clinic, Advanced Home Health, WF Price MD, and St Joseph Labor and Delivery in Bryan.

The last 13 years of her career she worked at Texas A&M University's Women’s Clinic at their Beutel Health facility in College Station. She retired in May 2023, ending her 45-year career.

While working at Daniel Jarvis in 1977, she met her husband, Jerry, whose grandmother was one of her patients. They were married the following year in June after she relented to his persistence. Together they raised two boys, Gerald Jr and Stephen.

Having a passion for music all her life, she used her talents to sing in the choir at Central Church in Bryan, Texas from 1976 for as long her health allowed. She also led children's praise with her husband, participated in Central’s Easter Pageant, and worked with peacemakers, sports camp and the special needs vacation bible school.

Pam was a third generation Amateur Radio Operator with the callsign KF5LPT, often causing pile up’s when she operated the radio, once her grandfather found out of her birth in 1953, it was announced via his homebuilt radio equipment to the world. She was also a member of the Brazos Valley Friend of the NRA, offering her support for youth shooting sports and local Law Enforcement for grants to their missions' goals by rising money to assist local Law Enforcement agencies and teach safe firearm handling to local shooting clubs and FFA organizations.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents.
