Kay Clark Jackson, 73, of College Station, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008, in Caldwell. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, at Hillier Funeral Home services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at College Station Cemetery.Kay was born December 22, 1934, in Wynne, Ark., to Walter and Blanche Hart Clark. She attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C. Kay enjoyed playing the piano and guitar, but her real passion in life was teaching. She strongly encouraged her grandchildren to be good readers by reading to them often. She also helped them perfect their penmanship and stressed the importance of being a good speller. Kay served as the director of the first Cerebral Palsy School in Greenville, Miss., and later owned and operated the Country Corral Day Care.Children were a big part of Kay’s life and she really enjoyed substitute teaching. In 1981, Kay moved to Texas and was co-owner of Seajay Investment Group. She also found time to volunteer at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Kay will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Don Clark.Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Landry and husband, Francis, of Caldwell; grandchildren, Clark Robinson and Austin Robinson, both of Houston, Seth Landry of Caldwell, Joey Landry of Hutto and Jeff Landry of Commerce; cousins, Joann Shirey of Greenville, Miss., and Durwood Ruegger of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and many nieces and nephews.
