In loving memory of Jason M. Jones.
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing Jason Moran Jones, a cherished son, brother, friend, and colleague. He departed from this world on June 2, 2024 in his hometown of Bryan, Texas.
Jay was born on August 22, 1987. From growing up in Calvert during childhood to establishing roots in Bryan during adolescence and adulthood, Jay's educational journey led him to earn a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University. Professionally, he contributed his skills to Texas A&M Agrilife Extension in the IT department and previously KAGS and KBTX where he worked with his passion- electronics and technology.
Jay had a vibrant personality that radiated joy and kindness to all around him. His lovable spirit and sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. He will forever be remembered for his infectious laugh, insightful opinions, quick wit, and most notably his comforting hugs. A man of many passions and interests, he found joy in exploring technology, tinkering with electronics, and immersing himself in the world of gaming, particularly on his beloved Xbox. Apart from his hobbies, he was an active ally for various causes close to his heart. Jay unwaveringly supported the LGBTQIA+ community as well as mental health awareness and abuse prevention initiatives.
Jay is survived by his mother, Bertha Workman (Jones); father, Curtis Henderson; his loving sisters, Jennifer Jones and Stephanie Jones; and a host of family members and friends who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and empathy.
Cherished forever in our hearts, may he rest in eternal peace.
