Janet Wood

Janet Wood, affectionately known by the love of her life for over 40 years as "Snooky," passed away on August 30, 2024 surrounded by those she cared for so lovingly. Born on March 30, 1955, Janet touched the lives of many during her time on earth with her caring, gentle spirit and her ability to make everyone feel at home. With a personality that radiated warmth and kindness, she truly never met a stranger.

Throughout her life, Janet dedicated herself to her family and friends. She wore many hats — not only as a hardworking mother but also as a confidant and steadfast friend. She was a lifelong member of the sorority Beta Sigma Phi, where she shared her infectious laughter, wisdom and kindness with her sisters for over 40 years. Her nurturing nature and unwavering support will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Janet found great joy in hobbies like line dancing and gardening, activities that spoke to her love of life and beauty. Whether she was on the dance floor or tending to her flowers, Janet approached everything with a passion that inspired others. Her laughter and easy demeanor drew people in, creating lasting bonds that will remain in the hearts of her loved ones.

A celebration of Janet's life will be held on September 21, 2024, at Hillier Funeral Home of College Station, located at 4080 Texas 6 Frontage Rd, College Station, TX 77845. Friends and family are invited to gather at 11:00 AM, with a continuation of festivities until 2:00 PM. This day will be a heartfelt tribute to a woman whose love and generosity knew no bounds.

As we reflect on Janet’s remarkable journey, we remember a life defined by deep connections, the joy of shared moments, and an abundance of love. Though she has left this world, the memories she created and the lives she touched will continue to resonate, reminding us all of the beautiful influence she held in our lives.
