Evelyn M. Smith, 91, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord on April 26, 2015. A time for family to receive friends will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Hillier Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Hillier Funeral Home, 2301 East 29th Street in Bryan with David Porterfield and Rick Sitton officiating. Interment will follow at College Station Memorial Cemetery.
Evelyn was born on May 12, 1923 to Thomas Jefferson Bloodworth and Minnie Lee Bradford in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended high school in Memphis, Tennessee.
Evelyn was an active member of First United Methodist Bryan. She was involved with FUMC Women’s Group and “Caring for Others “and loved oil painting, water colors, acrylics, ceramics, needle work and sewing and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. Bloodworth, and Minnie Lee Bradford; son, Curtis L. Smith, grandson Cody Smith, brother, Terry Bloodworth, sisters, Melva Dean Scarbrough, Carole Wade and Martha Pentecost.
Evelyn leaves behind her daughter Carla Patranella and husband Michael; daughter-in-law Karen Smith and sisters Ailene Phillips and Tommye Sanders, grandchildren Phillip Patranella, Mark Patranella and wife Daisha, Rusca Kennedy and husband Cory; great grandchildren, Liam Avery Kennedy and Luke Michael Patranella, and numerous nieces and nephews. Nannie will be missed dearly.
