Diane Marie Smith was born on January 20, 1963 at Orlando Air Force Base, Florida. Her parents are Richard Allen Smith and Norma Dansby Smith of College Station. Diane attended Bryan Public Schools and was graduated from Bryan High School in 1981 where she was a member and officer in the Shy-Annes drill team. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Southwest Texas State University and began a life long career in educating children. Diane was a member of the Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and taught in the church’s pre-school.
Diane is survived by her parents Richard and Norma Smith; her children Courtney Adamez, Matthew Adamez, Jennifer Adamez and Morgan Adamez; two sisters and their husbands, Sandra and Jeff Singer of Sugar Land, and Sharon and Steve Pittman of College Station; nieces Kristin Singer and Melissa Pittman; nephews Jack Burley, Andrew Singer and Bradley Pittman; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Diane’s grandparents were the late Horace and Gussie Dansby of Bryan and Arthur and Vivian Smith of College Station.
Pall Bearers are John R. Smith, Phillip Smith, Kevin Smith, Joel Smith, Jack Burley, Jonathan Dansby, John Kelbly and Jeff Kelbly.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM at Hillier Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Bryan at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2010 with arrangements by Hillier Funeral Home. The service will be conducted by Dr. David Higgs. Those wishing to honor Diane’s life and memory may do so through donations to Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston or First Baptist Church in Bryan.
