Deacon Asher Emerson, whose name means Happy Messenger, was born May 1, 2023, to parents Colt and Tara Emerson. He died peacefully at home in College Station, TX on June 4, 2024. Deacon was a Trisomy 18 warrior and lived a beautiful 400 days until passing gently into the arms of Jesus. One of the many lessons his life represents is to make room for hope and joy, even in the midst of challenges. Deacon will be remembered for his sweet laugh and beautiful smile. He loved kisses, cuddles and swinging. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Deacon is survived by his siblings Sabin, Pierce, Emma Reese, and Ledger; maternal grandparents Rocky and Diana Foster; and 3 aunts, 3 uncles, and 11 cousins who loved him deeply.
Deacon is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Thomas and Ramona Emerson.Deacon was also cared for lovingly by his nurses Megan Mayer, Pilar Irigoyen and his caregiver Angelina Mathew.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Declaration Church, 4220 Boonville Rd., Bryan, TX, with a reception immediately following in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Deacon’s honor may be made to: Extra to Love www.extratolove.org, an organization that supports families walking through prenatal and early infancy stages of a trisomy diagnosis.
