Barbara Spencer Denton of College Station, Texas went to her final resting place on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in Bryan, Texas. Barbara was born in Stewartsville, Missouri on February 23, 1942. She married Jon Denton of Denton, Kansas in 1963.
Survivors include her husband; daughters, Deborah Denton-Misfeldt and husband Randal of Clear Lake, Texas, Denise Palmer of Austin, Texas, and son, David Denton and wife, Jennifer of Prosper, Texas; grandchildren Jevon Jemaa, Katie Misfeldt, Claire Misfeldt, Jadyn Jemaa, Brooke Denton and Andrew Denton. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Crooner, and brothers, Bill and Doug Spencer. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Pauline Spencer.
Barbara grew up in Stewartsville, Missouri. She graduated from Stewartsville High School and immediately became employed in banking, working in St. Joseph, Missouri and Richmond, Missouri. With the arrival of her children, Barbara devoted herself to the care and nurturing of her family. Subsequently, Barbara became a Mary Kay Cosmetics Sales Director and maintained an association with this company for 45 years.
She was an active member of A&M Methodist Church in College Station. Barbara treasured her time spent with family and friends, and exhibited a passion for social bridge by participating in several groups each week. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother with the kindest heart and welcoming manner. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 16, 2016 at A&M United Methodist Church in College Station.
