Betty Castillo, 71, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 14th 2015.  A time for family to receive friends will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, May 19th 2015 at Hillier Funeral Home.  A celebration and rosary will begin at 6 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 20th 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Betty was born on April 15, 1944 to Father Fidel Castillo and Mother Hilaria Bernal in Bryan. She attended Blinn College to study Nursing.

Betty was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was involved with Amigos del Valle de Brazos. She also loved going on trips, shopping, going to the casino, cooking for her family and she made the best burgers at Margie’s, sewing and spending time with her grandkids. She was also a Spurs basketball fan and her favorite collectible was Betty Boop.

She is preceded in death by her parents Fidel and Hilaria Castillo, her brothers Johnny and Fidel Castillo, and a sister Josie Castillo.

Betty leaves behind her loving children, Gilbert Moncibaiz, Joe and wife Yolanda Moncibaiz, Norma and her husband Fernando Hinojosa, Rhonda Cruz, Samuel Cruz, Jeanette Rico, Angela Rodriguez-Gonzales; her 20 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters include: Fidel and wife Carolina Castillo, Pete Castillo, Paul and wife Lupe Castillo, Ophelia Castillo Rios, Carmen and husband Leo Sauceda, and Louis Castillo.
